Pastor Tracy's Message

“I’m Spiritual, Not Religious.”

“I’m spiritual, but not religious.” We’ve all heard that said before by many people, maybe even ourselves, to express the idea that we don’t need church or organized religion to connect with God.

What you end up with is simply a generalized sense of spirituality that can make it hard to grow in our life of faith in any substantive way. As a Christian, I grow in my relationship with God and life in the spirit as I draw closer to the specific teachings and life of Jesus.

So my picture of God is found in the unique revelation of Jesus. When I look at the life of Christ I can say: “This is the clearest picture we can possibly find of what God is really like and how God wants us to live.”

When I look at Jesus, I see a picture of God. I see the heart of God revealed in ways that move me beyond a generalized feeling of spirituality to a compelling, grounded, and specific story of faith.

LISTEN, REFLECT, BELIEVE

What does Jesus reveal to you about the nature and character of God? How would you answer Jesus’ direct question, “Who do YOU say that I am?” How does Jesus make a difference in your life? How does your Christian faith impact your daily living and your engagement with the world around you?

In the sermon two weeks ago, I invited you to e-mail me with your responses to these questions to help inform this week’s sermon. A big thanks to all those who have already taken the time to send along your thoughtful answers.

I encourage the rest of you to take a few minutes to reflect upon how your faith in Christ helps move you beyond a mere spirituality to a deep and powerful relationship with God that leaves you transformed anew each day. CLICK HERE to send me your reflections upon these questions. I look forward to reading your responses.

See you this Sunday!

Kenya, PCCC Mission Trip 2017

October 5, 2017

Jambo !

The PCCC led Mission trip to Kenya is rapidly approaching. With the assistance of KUEF (Kenyan Urithi Educational Fund), the team has a very busy schedule planned that includes teaching at BLISS High School and Kithoka Elementary School, leading Health Seminars, performing general repairs at KACH Children’s home and a host of other projects.

One anticipated highlight of our visit will be the dedication of the new kitchen at Kithoka Primary School. Through the generosity of PCCC, a new kitchen has been built and furnished with high efficiency wood stoves. No longer will the food for the children’s feeding program be cooked in a wooden shack over an open fire!

As the team prepares for its trip, we are asking for assistance in obtaining specific items that are needed at the school.

A giving tree will be set up in the lobby this Sunday. Please stop by and pick up a tag so you can give a personal gift for this valuable mission.

Or you can send a check to PCCC, 4501 HWY 224, Park City, 84098.

Please indicate Kenya Mission in the memo line.
